DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\n\nDisability inclusion and accessibility in the workplace often leaves out individuals with high support needs. Employment is so vital to the livelihood of autistic individuals of all abilities. Yet in Washington State very rarely high support needs individuals ever experience employment. Please join Dr. Abby George (Neurodiversity Employment Consultant) and Neil Barnett (Microsoft’s Inclusive Hiring Program)  for effective strategies that help promote meaningful inclusion and accessibility practices.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDr. Abbey George BCBA-D\n\n\n\nDr. George is a passionate and driven neurodiversity and disability ally, advocate, coach and consultant. Innovative thinker using research-based strategies in advanced ways to create, implement and support new and existing partnerships within our community in the PNW. Experienced program manager, leading and developing new programs. Skilled networker building meaningful partnerships in the community. National speaker inspiring employers and professionals to better support our neurodiverse and disabled community.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNeil Barnett, Microsoft, Disability Inclusion Leader\n\n\n\nNeil helped to develop Microsoft’s Neurodiversity Hiring Program, which has been in place since 2015.  He leads Microsoft’s inclusive hiring strategy for people with disabilities. Neil also oversees the strategy and operational performance of Microsoft’s consumer and enterprise Disability Answer Desk, which provides specialized customer support to people with disabilities.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKatie McMurray\n\n\n\nKatie McMurray is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Sensory Tool House, LLC a retail store designed for individuals who are neurodivergent and disabled to explore sensory and adaptive tools. She brings over 20 years of experience as an educator, certified disability management specialist, vocational counselor, disability advocate, and parent of a child with a disability and others who are neurodivergent.  Katie is an award-winning neurodivergent business owner who has proven increasing access to employment and providing a culture of support for all increases productivity, retention, and innovation. Outside of her work you can find Katie enjoying her family and exploring the Salish Sea.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
