Max Higbee Community Recreation Center is a small nonprofit organization based in Bellingham, WA. We provide recreation programs for teens and adults (14 years of age and older) with developmental disabilities.
Our programs vary in when and where they operate, but strive to reach three common goals:
1. To provide opportunities for personal enjoyment and enrichment through a diverse range of leisure activities.
2. To promote the social, physical, cognitive and emotional growth and development of participants.
3. To assist participants to achieve greater independence in their lives

We offer a variety of in-person and virtual individual and group programs:
Weekday Programs, Monday through Friday (group)
Weekend Program, Friday and Saturday Evening (group)
Recreation Mentoring, scheduled times (individual)
Community Guide and Engagement, scheduled times (individual and small group)
Seasonal Special Events, scheduled times (small and large group)
