South Kitsap Special Olympics provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in several different sports for athletes with intellectual disabilities ages 8 and up. Each athlete comes with his or her own skill level and we do everything possible to make sure they are placed on a team where they can learn and excel. SKSO continually provides our athletes the opportunity to develop and grow, to show courage, and to be a part of a team. Our athletes undergo training to develop skills so that they can participate in Regional events in which they compete against other athletes around the county. Those athletes that receive Gold or Silver Medals are then invited to attend the State Championship, where they would then compete against athletes from the remaining 3 regions in Washington State.
