Sydney Arizona Bay, Associate

Sydney’s passion for educational justice stems from her time as a middle school science teacher in Arizona and Washington. Before joining Cedar Law PLLC, Sydney was an Assistant Attorney General in Everett, Washington practicing juvenile litigation.

Sydney graduated with pro bono honors from the University of Washington School of Law. Sydney was a member of the Children and Youth Advocacy Clinic, where she represented homeless and low-income children in the dependency system. As part of the clinic, she volunteered with the CARA Family Detention Pro Bono Project in Dilley, Texas. Sydney traveled to the detention center in Dilley where she assisted women and children with their credible fear interviews.

While earning her J.D., Sydney interned for the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project Children and Youth Advocacy Project representing youth in immigration matters and for the Washington State Attorney General’s Office Civil Rights Division fighting to protect the rights of Washingtonians. She also interned at the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Washington in Yakima.

Sydney graduated from Arizona State University with a master’s degree in Secondary Education and the University of Texas at Arlington with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Spanish.
