Description

Whatcom Center for Early Learning provides interactive programs that allow our children to learn and play in natural environments.

At WCEL, parents choose the services that fit their child and family needs. Some families come to our "Big Blue House" every week to explore and learn in our therapeutic parent-child playgroups. In nice weather, playgroups are held outside in WCEL’s nationally-recognized outdoor play area designed by Rusty Keeler.

Because children learn best in a familiar environment, therapy sessions for speech and/or physical development often take place at home visits. Staff also provides sessions at childcare centers or other natural environment locations. Children of all abilities learn together in our Sensational Toddlers Program hosted by the Bellingham Parks & Recreation Department and the Ferndale Toddler Time programs at the Ferndale Boys & Girls Club.

Parents have the opportunity to meet other parents while children are able to socialize with other WCEL kids during our Monday playgroups. Playgroups are open to any child receiving WCEL services, and families can request to be placed on the waiting list or learn more about the groups from their Primary Coach or Family Resource Coordinator.

Whatcom Center for Early Learning is a non-profit 501(c)(3) agency. We provide early intervention services for infants and toddlers with special needs to help them reach their highest potential.
