{"id":3962,"date":"2021-02-19T12:12:18","date_gmt":"2021-02-19T20:12:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/washingtonautismadvocacy.org\/resources\/?post_type=wpbdp_listing&#038;p=3962"},"modified":"2021-02-19T12:12:18","modified_gmt":"2021-02-19T20:12:18","slug":"lewis-county-head-start","status":"publish","type":"wpbdp_listing","link":"https:\/\/washingtonautismalliance.org\/resources\/business-providers\/lewis-county-head-start\/","title":{"rendered":"Lewis County Head Start"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Lewis County Head Start is a child focused, family centered early learning program.\u00a0 We offer\u00a0free\u00a0services for eligible families with 3 &#8211; 5 year old children.\u00a0 Services are available\u00a0for most of Lewis County with centers in\u00a0 Chehalis, Toledo, Salkum and Randle.\u00a0 We are also able to offer transportation within our established bus routes.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: large;\">Head Start is a federally funded comprehensive program providing services in the areas of Education &amp; Early Childhood Development, Child Health &amp; Development, and Family Services for income eligible families of preschool age children.\u00a0 Head Start began as a part of the federal &#8220;War On Poverty&#8221; program of the 1960&#8217;s.\u00a0 Lewis County Head Start has been serving Lewis County families since 1986.<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: large;\">Reliable Enterprises is the Grantee Agency for Lewis County Head Start.\u00a0 As the grantee, Reliable Enterprises is the legal and fiscal agent for the program.\u00a0 The Lewis County Head Start Director is responsible for day to day operations of the program.\u00a0 The Policy Council, and elected group of parents and community representatives, meet once a month to assist in developing policy. \u00a0The Policy Council can best be described as an advisory board with limited veto power.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><a name=\"849589289\"><\/a>Program Design<\/h3>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: large;\">The Lewis County Head Start program design concsists of:<\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: large;\">\u00a0*\u00a0 One administrative area &#8212;administration office located in Centralia and<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: large;\">*\u00a0\u00a0 Four (4) educational areas &#8212; centers located in Randle, Salkum, Toledo, and Centralia\/Chehalis.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-size: large;\">The program provides services to 185 children ages 3-5 years old and their families.\u00a0 The center-based combination model provides classroom services for thirty seven (37) weeks per year: four (4) hours\/day, three (3) days\/week for 4 year olds; and three and a half (3.5) hours\/day, two (2) days\/week for 3 year olds.\u00a0 Each family receives a minimum of four (4) one and a half (1.5) hour home visits and two (2) conferences per year.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lewis County Head Start is a child focused, family centered early learning program.\u00a0 We offer\u00a0free\u00a0services for eligible families with 3 &#8211; 5 year old children.\u00a0 Services are available\u00a0for most of Lewis County with centers in\u00a0 Chehalis, Toledo, Salkum and Randle.\u00a0 We are also able to offer transportation within our established bus routes.
