I have been highly trained in psychotherapy and psychoanalysis and in effective ways of helping people. I have extensive training and experience with children, adolescents and adults. My specialty&#8217;s include: anxiety, depression, postpartum depression, eating disorders, couples and family counseling, developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, grieving, ADHD and Neurotherapy.<\/p>\n<p>I have completed four courses in Biofeedback and Neurofeedback and am certified in Low Energy Neurofeedback System (LENS). Furthermore, I am in the process of completing my board certification from Biofeedback Certificaiton International Alliance (BCIA) and am training under John Demos, who is one of the most knowledgeable and experienced pratitioners in the field of neurotherapy.<\/p>\n<p>I take a Cognitive-Behavioral approach to therapy. Cognitive-behavioral therapists seek to learn what their clients want out of life (their goals) and then help their clients achieve those goals. The therapist&#8217;s role is to listen, teach, and encourage, while the client&#8217;s role is to express concerns, learn, and implement that learning. I am certified as a Level Three Cognitive-Behavioral Therapist by The National Association of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapists. I have a master&#8217;s degree in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership\u00a0from University of Southern California. I am licensed in the state of Washington as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and certified as a National Certified Counselor. Additionally, I am a Child Mental Health Specialist in accordance with Washington State requirements.<\/p>\n<p>I am a tenured nursing instructor at Spokane Community College in which I teach psychiatric, obstetric, medical-surgical,\u00a0fundamentals, cultural diversity, health management and professional leadership nursing courses. I am also an adjunct psychology\u00a0professor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in which I teach online psychology courses.<\/p>\n<p>Lastly, I am a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.southhillcounseling.com\/additional_section\/Certified_Legal_Nurse_Consultant_CLNC.htm\">Certified Legal Nurse Consultant<\/a>\u00a0in which I work with\u00a0attorneys and insurance companies. I help them develop a thorough understanding of the medical issues in their cases by organizing and clarifying the medical information. Lastly, I am a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.southhillcounseling.com\/additional_section\/Certified_Nurse_Delegator.htm\">Certified Nurse Delegator<\/a>\u00a0as an independent contractor for the State of Washington.
