{"id":4865,"date":"2020-03-08T03:28:29","date_gmt":"2020-03-08T03:28:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/washingtonautismadvocacy.org\/resources\/?post_type=wpbdp_listing&#038;p=4865"},"modified":"2020-03-08T03:28:29","modified_gmt":"2020-03-08T03:28:29","slug":"brigadoon-service-dogs","status":"publish","type":"wpbdp_listing","link":"https:\/\/washingtonautismalliance.org\/resources\/business-providers\/brigadoon-service-dogs\/","title":{"rendered":"Brigadoon Service Dogs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We train dogs to provide assistance to Veterans, children and adults with physical, developmental disabilities, anxiety, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder and Traumatic Brain Injury.<\/p>\n<div><span style=\"color: #010054;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><i>Our accomplishments<\/i><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #010054;\">: In nine short years, we have placed forty partnership teams, established youth programs in a local high school and an alternative school for at-risk youth, started a program for Veterans, and a program at Cedar Creek Correction Center in Little Rock where the inmates live with these dogs and train them for the Veterans.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #010054;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span style=\"color: #010054;\">In 2012 we received our accreditation with Assistance Dogs International (ADI) and we were recognized\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #010054;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.brigadoondogs.com\/Brigadoon_Senate_doc.jpg\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">by the State Senate<\/a><\/span><span style=\"color: #010054;\">.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>We have opened our doors to several youth groups such as a camp for autistic children, the Parks and Recreation Youth Camp, Girl Scouts and home-schooled kids. We also participate in helping high school seniors with their culminating projects. We\u2019ve trained dogs for children with seizures, young adults with hearing impairments, visual impairment, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, autistic children, etc.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>We are one of the few organizations who will train a dog for a child under 16 years of age.
