Peninsula Services mission is\u00a0to assist persons with developmental disabilities, mental illness and other challenges, in developing skills and capabilities by providing a wide array of rehabilitative and supportive services. The agency provides assessment, rehabilitative work training, job placement and employment options to persons with disabilities in Kitsap County. Peninsula Services has been in Kitsap County since 1971 and is currently serving
\napproximately 200 people each year. Delivery of these services is accomplished in a number of ways including the procurement of actual contracts to serve as training or
\nemployment sites, the direct job placement of individuals with employers in the comm
\nunity, or through productive work training opportunities established by Peninsula Services itself. Peninsula Services is accredited by CARF (Commission on Accreditation of
\nRehabilitation Facilities)\u00a0and is certified to\u00a0provide services to\u00a0the Division of\u00a0Developmental Disabilities,\u00a0the Division of Vocational
\nRehabilitation, the Department\u00a0of Labor and Industries and\u00a0the Veteran\u2019s Administration. On\u00a0the job training, use of the\u00a0latest technology, as well as\u00a0accommodations that may be\u00a0needed for individual participants, promote excellence in\u00a0work performance. All services may be provided on a group\u00a0and\/or individual basis.\u00a0It is the philosophy of the
