It was designed to connect neurodivergent people—such as autistic and ADHD-identifying individuals—with compatible, affirming therapy and support professionals. The platform includes a range of licensed providers (counselors, psychologists, OTs, speech therapists, and more), all pre-screened to ensure legitimacy and alignment with neurodiversity-affirming values. Whether you’re seeking support across the U.S. or abroad, this directory serves as a trusted central hub to match you with providers who understand and respect your unique neurotype and identity.

After learning that she was neurodivergent and studying the neurodiversity movement, Amelia started her own practice to offer affirming services in Ohio. Due to her lived experience, she realized the importance of helping neurodivergent clients find neurodivergent providers. She began exploring the idea of building a directory with her mom due to her mom’s experience in web development. The directory started with a handful of providers in Ohio and now includes providers across the United States and several international countries. Charisse completed the initial back-end development of the directory and taught Amelia how to maintain the directory moving forward. Amelia now maintains the daily tasks of the directory, including reviewing applications, adding new providers, updating current listings, and managing the contact form.

***Since this is a directory, it doesn’t itself provide therapy or services—but rather supports connecting clients to ND-affirming providers. You will be required to pay a non-refundable one-time fee of $50 USD to join their directory.***

Neurodivergent Therapists is a grassroots directory created and run by neurodiverse individuals, in May 2021 by Amelia Galier Slama and her mom Charisse Galier Louis.
