Camp BLAST was awarded the Honor Award for Program Excellence in May 2007 at the Boys and Girls Club National Conference. Designed for high-functioning developmentally disabled children age 9-17, the camp\u2019s goal is to help participants develop confidence, independence, and improve their understanding of health and safety. Activities include multi-cultural cooking, movies, art, and field trips to pools, beaches, parks, zoos, the aquarium, fire and police stations, libraries, bowling, swimming, hiking and more. Camps are held at various Seattle locations.

Camp Burton provides two types of summer camps for developmentally disabled youth and adults: The Youth New Horizons Camp for ages 13-24; and Camp Parkview for adults. Activities include swimming (at the local pool), canoeing, games, archery, dancing, and campfires. Campers must be able to care for their personal needs (eating, dressing, and restroom) with minimal assistance and be able to participate in most camp activities.

Located on 185 acres of forest and lakefront near Stanwood, the camp serves children ages 7-21 with mild to moderate developmental disabilities. Participants must have self-help skills including feeding, dressing, toileting and grooming. Both mainstream and specialized cabin groups are available. Siblings may also attend. Aides are needed for campers who need assistance with personal care issues. Started in 1967, Stanley Stamm Camp is located at Sunset Lake Youth Camp near the base of Mount Ranier in Wilkeson, Washington. The summer overnight camp serves children age 6 to 14 who have been patients at Children’s Hospital and cannot attend other camps because of their medical needs. The camp is staffed with 200 to 250 volunteers, many with medical backgrounds, who often return year after year from various parts of the country.

Camp St. Albans is an accredited Girl Scout camp which serves girls ages 7-18 in Belfair. Sessions last from five to 11 days, and offer activities including horseback riding, waterfront, archery, arts and crafts, and nature exploration. The camp can serve girls with physical disabilities (limited by camp setting), learning and developmental disabilities (limited space), behavior disorders, and general medical conditions.
