Description

Girls with ASD need to socialize with girls their own age so they can learn to interact positively and relate through play, exploring common interests and just being girls. The nature of ASD can make those activities more difficult without extra support and guidance. This monthly social group provides a safe place to spread their wings for girls who are eight to 16 years old and have ASD.

Participants get the chance to enjoy all kinds of activities from sharing their special interests with others to dancing to their favorite music. To ensure that the activities engage your child, we like to find out ahead of time what she is interested in. Then we choose activities for each meeting based on the interests of the girls who attend.
Each child must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver, which gives you a chance to connect with other parents at the same time. The group meets on the third Wednesday of each month in Redmond. It is facilitated by Jaymi Shull, certified BCBA.  Jaymi has provided clinical services to children for over ten years. She completed graduate degrees in school psychology and applied behavior analysis.  Aspire Girls is coordinated by WAAA staff member Jen St. Cyr.

Click here to register online.   If you’re new to Aspire Girls, please complete the Participation Form and return it to Jen St. Cyr at jen@washingtonautismadvocacy.org . Be sure to let us know your daughter’s interests so we can plan activities that she will enjoy.

Note: All adult participants must complete a background check and sign the parent rights and responsibilities agreement.
