A few members of the Washington Autism Alliance & Advocacy Friendship Matters group braved the rain for a fun night out together to see the holiday lights at the Bellevue Botanical Gardens.
They had a chance to enjoy the amazing displays of flowers and animals created in colorful lights, along with a gingerbread house display and tasty cocoa and treats. The group meets on Tuesdays for fun activities and friendship building all under the guidance of dynamic social skills coaches.
For kids and young adults on the autism spectrum, making friends can be challenging and this group allows them to improve their social skills, develop long lasting friendships and enjoy a crucial sense of normalcy.
Upcoming activity for the Friendship Matters group:
Next week is Karaoke Night!, let us know if someone in your life age 13 to 17, and on the autism spectrum is interested in hearing more about the program and activities.
