On behalf of Disability Rights of Washington - Olmstead Act imperiled, time is running short to express concerns
We have received many questions around the lawsuit M.R. vs Dreyfus. We
have provided the most recent information from DRW (Disability Rights
Washington) and a recent article from The Olympian (below). If this issue
is important to you, please contact Governor Gregoire through her website

I have received many inquiries as to what people can do to make their views
known to Washington's Governor Gregoire regarding M.R. vs. Dreyfus. As you
may know many in the disability community are alarmed by the possibility
Governor Gregoire may appeal the Ninth Circuit decision on this case to the
U.S. Supreme Court. It is believed consideration of the decision by the
Supreme Court could do harm to the integration mandate of the 1999 Olmstead
case decided by the Supreme Court by narrowing or changing the scope of
that decision.
Governor Chris Gregoire is the one who decides whether or not to appeal the
Ninth Circuit decision on M.R. vs. Dreyfus. If you have an opinion on
this, whether or not you agrees with the ones linked to below, the best and
easiest way to express it is to use the Governor's website to send her an
email<http://cts.vresp.com/c/?DisabilityRightsWash/339630d29b/d18beea064/8b58009863>.
It serves as her "suggestion box" and is there for your use. She wants to
hear from you on matters that concern you. If you would prefer using snail
mail, your letter should be addressed as follows: Governor Chris Gregoire,
Office of the Governor, P.O. Box 40002, Olympia, WA 98504-0002.

I hope you will find this information helpful and I encourage you to
express your own view to Governor Gregoire so she fully understands the
potential impact of her decision. Apparently, she has asked for a ten day
extension to consider her options. Time is short, she will decide soon.
