The Autism Collaboration, Accountability, Research, Education, and Support Act " Autism CARES " is set to sunset on September 30th, 2019. The act has provided funding and programs to address some of the most urgent issues affecting people with ASD with the aim of improving the health and well-being of those affected by ASD/IDD. Two bills; S.427 and HR.1058, aim to reauthorize the Act allowing extension to 2024.
The senate bill is not currently co-sponsored in Washington state and the house bill is only co-sponsored in the 5th (Cathy McMorris Rodgers - R) and 10th (Denny Heck - D) districts.
