Supporting Parents of Autism (SPA)- Mental Health Counseling Group
WAA’s Supporting Parents of Autism (SPA) support group is mental health counseling for parents who have children on the autism spectrum.
Led by very seasoned and highly respected mental health counselors, these sessions offer support and community. We come from all walks of life, have children that are toddlers, school-aged, and adults. We also have many shared experiences and are here for one another. This group is for parents only and child care is not offered at this time.
About our SPA therapists:
Carrie Sheppard, LMHC, is a licensed mental health counselor with 25 years of experience working with children and families. She’s also the parent of two boys with diagnosed neuro-developmental disorders. Carrie has built her practice not only through her education and expertise but also around her experiences both as a counselor and as a parent.
From Carrie: “I’ve learned what works and what doesn’t. Since 1985, I’ve helped countless families, educators, and health care professionals – locally, nationally, and even internationally. In addition to helping families one-to-one, I share my knowledge and expertise worldwide as an accomplished trainer and speaker.”
