The Washington State legislative session is in full swing, and we are advocating and tracking bills that directly impact individuals with autism and their families.
SB 6070
On January 20th, CEO/Founder Arzu Forough testified on the importance of passing Senate Bill 6070. This critical public safety bill strengthens Washington’s ability to quickly and safely locate missing endangered persons. When someone vulnerable goes missing, time matters. SB 6070 ensures families and law enforcement have clear standards, narrow authority, and strong oversight to act quickly when lives are at risk—without expanding surveillance or weakening privacy protections. Watch the recording here and keep an eye out for Arzu’s testimony approximately one hour in! Arzu will be testifying again on February 5th.
SB 6268
Arzu also testified on January 27th for Senate Bill 6268. This vital bill ensures families, advocates, and educators can easily access past special education complaint decisions, helping parents better understand their rights and make informed decisions when advocating for their children. View the recording here for Arzu’s testimony, approximately 42 minutes in.
In addition to testifying over the last couple of weeks, we are also tracking and supporting the following bills. Follow the links below for more information and hearing schedules.
