Dear WAA families,
Some of you whose children have been receiving Medicaid Personal Care (MPC) services, have been telling us your child's MPC hours have been reduced in your last CARE assessment. Most of you however have been telling us your children who desperately need the services are not getting ANY paid services. On Saturday April 21st from 11a.m.-1p.m. you can meet with lawyers from Northwest Social Justice Project, Disability Rights Washington and Columbia Legal Services to learn more about the class action law suit that they have filed against DSHS for the MPC hour reduction.
The lawyers would like to hear your stories and the MPC reduction impact on your family. They would also like to hear from families who have NO funded services inspire of very high needs. They will also teach us how we might be better advocate for less hour reduction or gain the hours that are cut.
Our partner Organization Open Doors for Multicultural Families is providing lunch and interpretation needs.
