Team Moody and Others Join A Day Out for Autism

It was a blustery day in the Puget Sound when Team Moody walked the three kilometer trail around Kirkland's waterfront as part of WAAA's 2018 Day Out for Autism. Like many of the teams that participated in this year's walk, Team Moody was inspired to join because of a loved one impacted by autism. In this case that loved one is the family's middle son, "Moody," a nickname given to the youngster after his mother's very moody second pregnancy.

Team Moody joined over 35 teams in support of this year's Day Out for Autism walk. Each team raised funds to support their walk, and together they've brought in over $30,000 for WAAA.

A Day Out for Autism (formerly WAAAlk for Autism) is an event WAAA puts on each year in April to honor National Autism Acceptance Month. It is an inclusive, family friendly celebration to provide fun activities for youth and adults of all ages and resource information for families with loved ones impacted by autism.

Even though the walk is over, it's not too late to do your part to support WAAA and the teams that joined this year's walk. You can click here to donate. WAAA helps families struggling to access the autism related health care and education services their children need, and your support enables WAAA to help families navigate through any barriers along their way.
