The Senate is about to vote on an amendment to the 2014 Defense bill that will greatly improve access to medically recommended ABA care for our military families. Sponsored by Senators Patty Murray  and Kirsten Gillibrand (NY), the amendment will make ABA a permanent medical benefit under TRICARE for autism and other developmental disabilities and improve access to treatment by expanding the definition of authorized providers. The same amendment was approved last year by Congress, but it was later whittled down to a one-year pilot program that has so far proven a failure. The House has already passed comparable language leaving only the Senate to take action. Families from around the nation are urging their  Senators to finish the job this year by voting YES for the ABA amendment to make these benefits accessible and permanent!
