Christina was concerned that they were not making progress in their education programs. The children were also losing learning opportunities and access to services as the school team was struggling to provide effective supports. Rather than trying to support them to meet their goals, the school had been moving the goals back. Kathy (our Special Education Senior Legal Assistant) helped the family by coaching them to advocate effectively for the appropriate services and support. Faced with long waitlists for therapies outside of school, Christina was also connected with therapy providers in their community and said support from WAA made her feel that she finally had a seat at the table for the first time.
