Washington Autism Alliance and Advocacy hosted our 16th semi-annual Blueprints for Special Education workshop on September 26th, 2020.
Nearly one hundred participants joined us to learn how to use the building blocks of the laws regulating special education to develop appropriate services for a child or student with special needs. We’d like to give a huge thank you to our panelist of attorneys, Kerri W. Feeney, Katherine George, and Deborah Dorfman for sharing their wealth of expertise and answering over one hundred questions! The workshop also offered valuable insight into the state of special education in the time of COVID and distance learning.
By offering this workshop via Zoom, we’re able to bridge geography limitations and increase the access to the state’s most prominent experts in Special Education laws and regulations. We know it can be difficult to stay engaged in a virtual format and Blueprints could not happen without the knowledge and engagement of our panelists, participants, and support of our staff. Thanks again for making our second virtual workshop a success!
Hear what participants had to say about Blueprints:
“I am an advocate through the Arc of the Peninsulas and I feel like I gleaned new information”
“so much valuable information presented, chatted, discussed live q/a, typed q/a…”
“This is my third time attending IDEA and highly recommend it”
