Olympia, WA - Governor Jay Inslee signed SB 5488 regarding licensure for professional behavior analysts into law. This law (once fully implemented) makes it possible for all types of insurance to cover medically necessary Applied Behavior Analysis as for school districts to employ and seek reimbursement for their services. If your insurance benefits only covers licensed ABA providers, this law is of interest to you. Washington Autism Alliance & Advocacy (WAAA) was instrumental in passage of this bill. WAAA will work with state agencies to develop regulations towards implementation of SB5488.
