Elevating Independence: Strategic Parent Coaching for the Neurodivergent Young Adult

Parenting doesn't stop when your child grows up. If you're supporting an older adolescent or adult child who is neurodivergent, you may still feel overwhelmed by:

  • Intense emotions or anxiety
  • Challenging behaviors
  • The complexities of adult life skills and transitions

You might be asking:

  • Why are they struggling with this transition?
  • Am I offering the right support?
  • What do they truly need to build independence?

You are not alone, and you don't have to figure out this next chapter by yourself.

This is a skills-focused partnership, not therapy.

While traditional therapy often focuses on the past, our coaching is a future-focused process designed to build practical skills and understanding for the current stage of life.

We use collaborative, tailored approaches to enhance your young adult's independence, communication, and relationship-building capacities. The focus is on implementing strategies that help you understand what your adult child is communicating through their behavior—especially around life skills, managing stress, and complex transitions.

We focus on strengthening:

  • Understanding your adult child's emotional well-being and needs.
  • Your connection and communication as a family.
  • Your ability to respond with confidence and clarity.

What You Will Gain

Through this supportive process, you will:

  • Better understand your young adult’s behavior and emotions.
  • Feel more confident in how you respond to complex situations.
  • Strengthen your long-term relationship.
  • Learn concrete ways to support them during difficult transitions (e.g., college, employment, living arrangements).
  • Feel less overwhelmed and more grounded as a parent navigating these adult years.

A Supportive, Non-Judgmental Space

This journey isn't about being a "perfect" parent. It's about:

  • Becoming more aware of their unique needs.
  • Building a stronger, more connected relationship.
  • Learning what truly works for your adult child's path to independence.

You will be supported with curiosity, compassion, and respect every step of the way.

  • Format: 60-minute sessions (45-min live and 15 min paperwork), held virtually via TEAMS.

Is This Right For You?

This coaching is an excellent fit if you:

  • Feel unsure how to respond to your adult child’s anxiety, big emotions, or complex behaviors.
  • Are navigating the challenges of transitioning to adulthood (e.g., employment, independent living).
  • Want to strengthen and maintain your relationship during this developmental stage.
